Creating Command-Central

The older my children get the more I seem to need to keep tabs of. I actually thought (stupid me) that when they got older, it would be easier to manage their lives. I was very mistaken so recently I decided to tame the paper clutter on my fridge and try to create a kind of 'command-central' for my family.

What is a command-central? Many refer to this idea as a launch pad - a common space to store small, important items you use everyday. These items can include your keys, cellphones, ...

Put to the test

Last week-end, the kids' rooms were shambolic and I actually just ignored it (rather good going for a Neat Freak) until I hit upon a plan.

What if I put those rooms to the '5-min system test', which basically was that I would set the timer for 5 minutes and we would see if we could get them sorted in that time using the systems that exist in that space.

So, came Sunday afternoon, that is what I did with my daughter by my side and pretty soon, order was restored in the allotted five mins!  (Here...
